2026 Question: Does Lineage Really Matter for Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh?
I’ve been researching Yoga Teacher Training courses in Rishikesh for 2026, and I keep seeing discussions about “traditional lineage-based schools” versus larger commercial or “factory-style” institutes in Tapovan.
For those who have completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, did the lineage and authenticity of the school actually make a difference in your learning experience?
I’m a beginner planning to start with a certified 200 hour YTT, but I’m also thinking long term. If I want to eventually teach internationally or lead workshops by 2027, would it be better to continue with a 300 hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh at a school deeply rooted in traditional lineage?
Also, for people who don’t have a full month available — is a 100 hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh or even a 10 days yoga retreat in Rishikesh enough to experience real spiritual depth and authentic learning?
Would love to hear honest experiences about traditional vs. commercial schools in Rishikesh — especially from those who trained recently.
